Session Description:

Windows 7 & Office 2010 are ushering in a new era on the desktop. Many organizations have not touched their desktops in many years since their original Windows XP deployment. During this time many other important components have changed and progressed. Technology has marched on, user needs and expectations have changed, the Internet has come of age, virtualization technologies have risen, and many other factors are different from when you designed and deployed your Windows XP desktops. This means things are not as simple as replacing Windows XP with Windows 7. Rather, you need to think about your desktop and the infrastructure that supports this. You need an optimized desktop solution to easily take advantage of all of these technologies and enable your desktops to be productive long into the future. In this demo-filled session, we will look at how to weave technologies like Windows 7 and Office 2010, producing the best productivity experience across the PC, phone and browser.

Glenn Osako has over 15 years of sales & marketing experience in the technology industry. He is currently responsible for leading Microsoft’s Small & Midsized business (SMB) through distribution in the West Region. He’s involved with strategic business planning, sales leadership, channel development and helping drive Microsoft solutions into the market. Prior to joining Microsoft in April 1997, Mr. Osako was a Senior Systems Engineer at Apple Computer, Inc. providing pre-sales technical consulting on Apple technology for higher education and enterprise customers. Mr. Osako holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Southern California.

Post-Presentation Update

Glenn provided us with a copy of his presentation that highlights some of the new features of Windows 7 and Office 2010, which can be obtained here.

He was also kind enough to provide the following links to help us get a more comprehensive idea as to what Office 2010 has to offer here and here:

Since Glenn was short on time and unable to provide us with a demonstration of OneNote as part of his presentation, he was kind enough t provide us with "The top 10 reasons to try OneNote"  If you have any interest in finding out what this commonly overlooked feature of Office has to offer, check it out here.

Lastly, if you are interested in exploring the new features yourself, you can download the Trial of Office 2010 here.
