TOPIC:  Change Management and the Service Desk

With both presidential candidates and all the pundits preaching CHANGE from every hilltop it seems a good time to talk about how IT and the Service Desk might learn to manage change better.  Like death & taxes, change is inevitable.  IT changes produce more than 80% of the incidents we deal with every day, but especially on Monday.  The application developers do not make changes in order for the Service Desk to hone their interpersonal skills but that is often exactly what happens.  The largest element in the degradation of IT Service Delivery is weak or non-existent management of changes to the live environment.  Join George Spalding for a spirited session on what you can do to stop the downward spiral on changes that produce incidents that require more changes that produce incidents that need changes.
